The charity behind our festival has, over recent months, been building a new project based on partnering with organisations around the country that have the same ethos as The Green Gathering. The trustees' vision is to strengthen the connections between like-minded people and places throughout the year and across the UK.
We know the festival provides a sense of home, community, tribe... and we know there are places with a similar vibe where people are nurturing the land and each other, making community art, stoking joy and enacting radical change all year round.
The GG charity would love to help forge relationships with and between these places, to create a network, pockets of solidarity, where Green Gathering people can learn and share, be safe, be welcome, create and have fun - more than just once a year in Piercefield Park!
The first Regional Partner Site is Hearts of Oak Organisation (HOO) based at the Heaven Sculpture Yard in four acres of Suffolk woodland. HOO embodies open-hearted cooperation and creativity, supports artists and makers, and works with local communities to encourage environmental awareness and care of the countryside.
To find out more about the Regional Partner Sites project, come along to the festival next year - we'll have a new area with campfire, acoustic music and workshop space, where partners can show and share what they do and interested groups can apply.
