Marieke Vink came to the UK from The Netherlands in the early 2000s and eventually ended up on the shores of Swansea Bay. An experienced performer of cover songs since her busking days as a teenager she has finally picked up a pen to write her own songs. With her trade mark brutal honesty, her first batch of songs saw the light of day in 2020 and she has not stopped since.
Those days busking on the streets of Amsterdam have given Marieke a powerful voice and a rare command over her audience. She was very involved in the music scene in Northampton, where she spent the first 15 years in the UK, playing every open mic in town, to critical acclaim. She has recorded and performed with some of Northamptonshire's best musicians.
She put off recording her music for years, wanting to wait until she had enough of her own material. The waiting is over and her debut single "What Took You So Long" was released in April 2021.
