Dear Green Gatherers,
Having consulted and researched and wrestled with this decision for the last few weeks we now have to tell you, with much sadness, that we’ve decided to postpone this year’s Green Gathering.
It seems very unlikely festivals will be able to go ahead this summer, even small ones spread out across wide green meadows under open skies, like ours.
With coronavirus a long way from being under control, and the high risk of asymptomatic transmission, we don’t feel it would be wise, kind or safe to bring people from so many parts of Britain all together in Chepstow. We don’t want to put our GG community in harm’s way, or risk bringing any Covid-19 cases to our host community in South Wales.
We aim to return with an even better Green Gathering next year, putting all the energy and planning that was going to infuse GG 2020 – and some – into a spectacular coming-back-together in 2021 (July 29-August 1). We can’t wait to share music and skills and fields with you again.
We’re not going to attempt a full online festival – too many of us feel the need for earth under our feet and woodsmoke in our nostrils to be comfortable with a virtual Green Gathering – but we will be posting content from our wonderful artists, co-ordinators and crew. Check our website and social media for lockdown gigs, playlists, permaculture tips and more.
Please login to your Ticketsellers Ticket Shop customer account here: https://www.theticketsellers.co.uk/your_account before August 16th 2020 to discover how to roll your ticket over to 2021 (guaranteeing a ticket at 2020 prices), donate your ticket to help us through these difficult times, or claim a refund.
We hope you can all stay safe, keep faith and find space to dance outdoors even if it has to be in splendid isolation this summer.
See you on the other side of this,
Much Love, from GG HQ
